Hi all,

I'm building an SQL database and I want to store Ms word documents.

I tried to do it with TEXT columns, but I couldn't insert the documents, so I tried it with BLOB and it works.

Now I need to replace some words in the database in the BLOB column.. but I haven't accomplished it so far.

I need to display the contents of ms word database documents in a jsp page. But regarding the encodings and character like 'ñ' and 'u', the only way I found was reading from the database blob into java and from here to a word document and afterwards from the word document with poi word extractor to jsp..A lot of work...

Please can you help me with this?

Regards

Somehow now it's working with text columns and I don't need the neither blob nor the poi extractor. I changed meta to utf8, saved doc file in a txt as utf8 and now it's working
