| My data is coming from a txt file, pipe delimited. Any know what this means, or how to catch these errors?[Source - 75KRec_txt [1]] Error: Data conversion failed. The data conversion for column "Column 42" returned status value 4 and status text "Text was truncated or one or more [Source - 75KRec_txt [1]] Error: The "output column "Column 42" (136)" failed because truncation occurred, and the truncation row disposition on "output column "Column 42" (136)" specifies failure on truncation. A truncation error occurred on the specified object of the specified component. characters had no match in the target code page.". [Source - 75KRec_txt [1]] Error: An error occurred while processing file "D:\SRVR4 Share\75KRec.txt" on data row 1. [DTS.Pipeline] Error: The PrimeOutput method on component "Source - 75KRec_txt" (1) returned error code 0xC0202092. The component returned a failure code when the pipeline engine called PrimeOutput(). The meaning of the failure code is defined by the component, but the error is fatal and the pipeline stopped executing. [DTS.Pipeline] Error: Thread "SourceThread0" has exited with error code 0xC0047038. [DTS.Pipeline] Error: Thread "WorkThread0" received a shutdown signal and is terminating. | sounds like data coming in one of fields in file is having more length and its not able to accomodate value in table field. check for column which is having ordinal value of 42------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SQL Server MVPhttp://visakhm.blogspot.com/ |

| without knowing data how can i tell? i hope its varchar..if yes give varchar(8000) if you're sure value doesnt go beyond it. if not sure, use BLOB data type varchar(max)------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SQL Server MVPhttp://visakhm.blogspot.com/ |
