file, file groups, tables and partition

Hi - ,

Could anyone please tell me what are the differences between "file", "tables","filegroups", "partition"?

Is a "file" a "table"?

A file is just that, a file on disk. A filegroup is a set of files. A filegroup contains 0 or more tables.
