Hi All.

Long time ago we start to use SQL Server 2000 and created some DTS. Now we got SQL Server 2008. My question is if I will create SSIS based on data from SQL Server 2000 does SSIS perform task faster then DTS with same data? Or I need migrate all data to new server and only by that way I will get faster SSIS execution.

Thanks.

it depends...Depending on how you implement it in SSIS, it can be faster than DTS

Thanks for replay.

I thought create SSIS just by link each task to stored procedure located in old server.

Thanks.

How understand your last replay? You mean most correct way to create SP in new server based on data from old server? Can you explain detail what I need to do to create SSIS based on old data? Of cause if it is possible.

Thanks.

Well...if you HAVE to do a rewrite...maybe you can avoid all the "shiny" toys and just bcp out the data, stage it, audit, modify and then load it

This is what they call ETL these days
