Hello

I am very new to SQL and at the moment am onlt able to create views and query basic tables for the program I develop and for use within its reporting tool.

I have a view and within one of the columns i need to extract data from a certain piece of text. The point from where this text is to be extracted is a variable as it is a free text field within the system. Is this possible and if so how?

Are you using SQL Server?

What reporting tool are you talking about

What variable? Are you sing a stored procedure?

What are the table(s) are you extract the data from?

Do you have a query that you've tried to write already?

I'm not clear as to where you are and what you are doing.
