I am using the Import and export wizard in sql 2008 to import a large Excel spreadsheet into a table , within the excel spreadsheet i have field named CustomerId some of the id's within the fields are all numbers and some are all letters . I have set the field Type NvarChar(50) but when i run the import it is only importing the Ids that are all numbners and it is leaving the fields Null for the ones that are all Letters , My question is what would be the best Field Type to hold all off the Ids ( i have tried using a text field tyoe and this is giving me the same results )
