Greetings to all!I am new to Database Administration and have to manage MS SQL 2008 Server of a customer. Customer's requirement is as below:There are couple of applications which affect the following tables during the day:1) Forecast_temp2) Forecast3) Forecast_Current4) Forecast_Current_Temp5) Forecast_mob6) Forecast_Mob_Today7) Forecast_SunrisesetNeed a log file with following details on daily basis1) Total number of records inserted, updated or deleted with table names and time of the transaction.I have to get back to the customer on a very short time frame. Any help / advise / guidance will really be appreciated.Best Regards, |

If you are on Enterprise edition, Change Data Capture may be a good option for you. There is nice explanation with examples here: http://www.simple-talk.com/sql/learn-sql-server/introduction-to-change-data-capture-(cdc)-in-sql-server-2008/Edit: Somehow, the link does not seem to work, but if you copy and paste the whole URL you will get to the page I was looking at. |

Thanks indeed @sunitabeck. I just had a quick glance through the link you have directed me to and it appears to be very helpful. However I am yet to follow the instructions mentioned by Pinal on this article; Thanks for your quick guidance.
