I need to create a new copy all reports to a new folder and point and run them off of a new data model. All the reports are created using the Report Builder and the data model is generated from the database using the SSRS Generate Model utility. I tried opening a report and then did a Save As into a newly created folder in SSRS. Then created a new data model from my newly created copy of the current database and pointed this new report at it.This of does not work, as the reports created with the Report Builder in SSRS are bound to the data model via a guid that SSRS creates, so the report cannot bind back to queries when you create a new model and point the report at it. Is there some other way to get this done? Anyone successfully done this? I do not want to have to go through redesigning all the reports just to have a separate staging/production folders/databases for reports in SSRS.Thanks in advance for help and advice. |
