You mean you have a remote connection to the server and have loaded management studio there?
Have you looked at the location using explorer.

SSIS can be used in a similar way.

What do you mean by this?

Ssis package code corresponding to scheduled job code is in E-drive in prodction server

do you mean actual package file called by scheduled job? Are you storing packages in file system or sql server?

Is the package in the E drive on the server. Does the sql server agent have access to it?
If you load management studio on your workstation it will look in the E drive on your workstation not on the server.
Similarly if you try to add the job step from your workstation.

Remote on to the server and add the job frrom there or script the job pointing to your local drive, change the script and run it against the server.

The error message yoou got says that yoou haven't

Try
sp_helpsrvrolemember
select IS_SRVROLEMEMBER('serveradmin')

Also enable xp_cmdshell (if it isn't already) and try
master..xp_cmdshell 'dir e:\'

why not use UNC path if you're configuring it from your machine. you should still be needing proxy crendential though
