I am installing instances of sql server 2008 and r2 on cluster. Which one I should install first: sql server 2008 or r2?

Thanks

I always install the older ones first as there have been issues in the past regarding the order, so I just make it a best practice. I don't think it matters anymore though.

Why you want to install 2008 in the first place ? 2008R2 is an independent setup.

Because some apps require it? I know I've got one that doesn't support R2 yet.
