In BIDS I have a textbox that contains Dept_Name in my page header. When my report runs for all departments (by leaving a parameter field blank) I would like for the Dept_Name in the page header to change to match the department that goes with the records on that page of the report. Right now it prints the first department name on all pages of the report.

you should be including it in body of report them inside a table. the table should be mapped to your dataset. if you want additional details to be included you can apply group on department in table and add department name into its header. you can include other fields inside its detail section
