I have a table with some varbinary(max) columns. How can I tell if filestream is being used for these items? Is there something I should see when I do a Select * from the table? What if I double click on the column name in SSMS? -thanks.

you need to search for column in catalog view sys.columns and look for is_filestream column value

select name,is_filestream
from sys.columns
where OBJECT_NAME(object_id)='your table'
