| My company has been using SQL 2000 for many years, and we have built several custom DTS packages to process our daily jobs. Our new software requires that we now use SQL 2005, and it is only the Express Edition which has no SSIS features. Without SSIS or DTS, how can I setup some of the same packages in order to get our data processed properly? Should I use a VS solution? Microsoft Access? Can I possibly work with the SQL 2005 tables in SQL 2000 and use our same DTS packages?I'm very new to this...so thank you in advance.-Jen |

| Take a look at this thread, and in particular Bill Elicson's response - he is saying you can download the express toolkit which will give you DTS capabilities.: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sqltools/thread/546f4407-0aa4-4b04-96f3-e6f0ba39a9d1/ |

you can use DTS packages in SQL 2005 also. just need to migrate them to SQL 2005 instance. If you're edit or modify them, then you need to install dts designer component in sql 2005 though!------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SQL Server MVPhttp://visakhm.blogspot.com/ |
