Hi,

Our replication has gone haywire and nothing is working because, as it transpires, all the subscriptions are inactive. They won't re-initialise either, popping up an error about requiring the actual server name to make a connection.

The two databases being replicated are on physically distinct sites, with different domains.

I know that can happen because of problems with @@servername. So I run that and I get this:

MachineName\InstanceName

And when I try to check the synchronisation status of the subscription, I'm told I must first establish a connection with MachineName\InstanceName and then presented with a box to connect to MachineName\InstancName. This of course fails because what's needed is
MachineName.DomainName.co.uk\InstanceName.

So what's up here - do I need to update @@SERVERNAME to

MachineName.DomainName.co.uk\InstanceName

Or is the problem somewhere else?
