Hello there.i am trying to move the tempdb to another location.just to test i have tried the following.USE master GO ALTER DATABASE TempDB MODIFY FILE (NAME = tempdev, FILENAME = 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\test\tempdb.mdf') GO ALTER DATABASE TempDB MODIFY FILE (NAME = templog, FILENAME = 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\test\tempdb.ldf') GOthen i get Msg 5121, Level 16, State 1, Line 1The path specified by "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\test" is not in a valid directory.can someone help me out please.RegardsRob |

It says " Path is not valid". Why move to C Drive? |

i am just testing to see how it works really.I am moving to another folder within the MSSQL folder.why would it say not valid when the folder exists.? |

Ive done it now.moved onto D: fed up with it filling up so quickly before i can keep an eye on it. |
