Just restore as per normal. No special treatment is required. It will be automatically converted to the 2008 version.However, the reverse is not possible. You can't restore a 2008 backup on a 2005. KH[spoiler]Time is always against us[/spoiler] |

Hi Khtan We have faced this issue while restoring SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008 Resore failed for the serverSystem.Data.sqlclient.sqlError:Exclusive acess could not be obtained because the database is in use (Microsoft.Sqlserver.smo)sridhar |

Hi I have stopped all the application which have access to the database and tryed to restore it worked but know its showing below message after sucessfully restored"Database samplefdm is not accessible (Object Explorer)"sridhar |

Can you drop this database, restore it all fresh again to see if you get the same error message. Ideally, it won't. |
