Hi,looking to Upgrade from SQL 2008 Enterprise to 2008 R2 Enterprise on Windows 2008 R2 Server (64 bit).Any known issues, gotchas, white papers, etc... that I should be looking for or prepare for?My guess is that an in-place upgrade should be quite easy as there should not be many changes from 2008 to 2008 R2.thanks for your help.Scott |

Microsoft has a lot of useful well-organized information on how to upgrade, including an upgrade advisor. This is the link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb677622(v=sql.105).aspxTake backups of everything, go through the documentation carefully, and upgrade. It should be rather painless (famous last words :)Editing: The automatically inserted hyperlink above seems to take you to the 2012 site. If you copy the string I posted into a web browser, it should take you to the 2008 R2 site. |
