the thing is i took the backup of a particular sql server database (filename-collgid.bak)...nd after that i uploaded that backup file(collgid.bak) it to my google drive account..ok & this happned months back... meanwhile i formated my laptop...had to install the sql server managment studio again...(d same version(2008) vich was installed previously)now when i am tryng to restore that backup file(collgid.bak),its showing "Msg 3241, Level 16, State 13, Line 1.The media family on device is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family."...looked up on internet..found two reasons:either: the backup is corrupted...thats nt the case bcz i verified that backup file, the very moment i took d backup...else: the backup file(collgid.bak) i downloaded from my google drive account was downloaded in ascii format...i need to download it in binary mode..so how do i downld this file in binary mode from my google drive account??any other reason as to why its showing this error?PS- 3 party sftwres lyk apexsql && sqlbackup and ftp didnt work??? |

If the file is indeed corrupted in the process of uploading/downloading from Google drive, you might want to post the question in a Google support forum. I doubt if there are any Google storage experts on this forum. Before you make the determination that the file is indeed corrupted, try doing a header only restore. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178536.aspx |
