It could be because the network connection from those users to the database server is not available (perhaps temporarily), or the network is slow. It also could be because the queries you are running against the server are taking longer than the timeout set (or default timeout if none has been set).How long does the query take normally? If it was close to 15 seconds or 30 seconds (I don't recall which), it could be the latter. If queries run very quickly for those users that are able to run, it could be the network. Are you able to ping the database server from those client machines? |
