Hi experts,
I would like to be able to connect via my iPhone to a database server for the purpose of restarting a failed job etc. I'm interested in what other DBAs are doing.
- are you using an app such as iSqlWebprog - Sql Server Client (costs $25)
- or do you somehow remote in to an IP address?

Just looking for real-world ideas.
Isn't it great to have the ability to work 24 hours a day now :)

I doubt that I need an app such as iSqlWebprog - Sql Server Client. That looks like a substitute for Management Studio.

I just need to be able to remote into my desktop from my iPhone. From there I can launch Managemnt Studio and connect to any database instance.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I had not been able to. Although I have a Blackberry curve. I'm not sure if I can RDP with it. It has a small screen and is not a touch screen.

I installed
http://www.splashtop.com/personal
yesterday. The client app of course installs on your smart phone. Then you have to install a streamer tool on the PC/Server you wish to connect to.

It installs very easily and it works. But in practicality, it's so frustrating to use the phones small display, making even the simplest of tasks such as restarting a job extremely slow.
I may need to get a Tablet.
