| Hi, I am not very professional in sql server. I restored msdb from another server, but I did not pay attention because I was loggin with another sql server user. now my sa user is not able to login. I am just able to login with sql user which I restored my msdb database , and windows authentication user. When I want to log in with sa user I get this error:A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 233)How can I fix this without reinstalling sqlserver? | A couple of thoughts: 1) It looks to be trying to use a shared memory Network Protocol. Have you tried explicitly setting this to another (e.g. TCP/IP) at connection time? 2) Are you local to the server (remote desktop) when you try to connect? 3) Can you restore the original MSDB?===============================================================================There are two kinds of light -- the glow that illuminates, and the glare that obscures. -James Thurber (1894-1961) |

| First of all thanks for your time. here is answer of your questions:1) No2)I set up a virtual server, and I am connecting locally.3) That was my fault which I did not provide backup from msdb before restoring from other msdb. It is not production server yet. I was working to build up a production server.Thanks for your answer, MPMp |
