I am a newbie DBA and was wanting to buy a laptop to install SQL server 2012/2008r2 on in order to practice and test. What recommendations would you give as best value for around £600.00? (GBP). Also would it be better to run the SQL server instances in a virtual machine and if so what software would you recommend? Thank you for your trouble. Kind regards Ian
