We have several SQL Server Installations (Both SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008 R2) that I need to recreate for a Disaster Recovery excersize. Short of performing an install and creating a configuration file, is there a way to generate the configuration file with a utility or any other way? IBM has a very cool Utility called db2rspgn (syntax db2rspgn -d <directory path for response file / instance profiles> ) which goes out and interogates the DB2 LUW installation and creates what they call a response file which can be used to recreate the installation on any Server. Does anyone know of a similar Microsoft utility for SQL Server? |
