I've been playing around with this new feature in 2014 and have had amazing performance improvements for writes. When delayed durability is turned on I do 10,000 individual writes in 1.4 seconds. With it turned off it takes 15 seconds.I'm not overly concerned about possible data loss (which would be minimal if RAM was flushed) but I am concerned because my tlog became corrupt last night after having turned it on. I don't know if it is a coincidence. Anyone have any experience using it? |

The only drawback is if tlog writes takes that long and application have continued and suddenly tlog is rolling back.Could be a bummer and difficult to handle. But it would only be in the case if tlog is completely full. Microsoft SQL Server MVP, MCT, MCSE, MCSA, MCP, MCITP, MCTS, MCDBA |
