Hello

I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to ASP so....

I am looking to develope and interoffice ASP app. that will allow users to enter information directly into a SQL Server 7.0 DB. However, the information is sensitive and can not be compromised. So, is there a better way to connect to the SQL server than having to specify the user name and password in the connection string?

Thanks

Rob

You might look into using Windows Authentication instead of Mixed / SQL Server authentication. That way you don't pass the username and password in the connection string. But this can really be a pain in the butt to do in ASP because your users will have to authenticate to the web page.

You can also use SSL / encryption for your connection to the SQL Server.
