We are currently using MSDE (free version of SQL 2000) and have been since 2005 or so. It works well for our needs. I have been using Query Analyzer and Enterprise Manager to assist me in managing the database.I have upgraded my desktop computer to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and discovered the Query Analyzer and Enterprise Manager will not run on my new desktop.I need to know where and how I can get similar tools that will run on my Win 7 Pro computer to allow me to continue managing our databases. |

Just run setup.bat from the 2000 media and then click "run program" when it mentions the compatibility issue. Also select the option to ignore further messages like this. You might have issues with newer operating systems since 2000 is so old and hasn't been supported in many years. You really need to start planning an upgrade to 2014, which can't be done directly. I think you'll need to upgrade to 2008 R2 first and then to 2014.Tara KizerSQL Server MVP since 2007http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/ |
