| Hello..i a beginner here.i have sql server enterprise edition 2008R2 in a windows 2008 64 bit system. So for a restore issue when our software people trying to restore, it was getting error as the version different. The main server sql version is 10.50.1600.1, and i installed 10.0.2531. so how i can get the same version 10.50.1600.1.pls help me |

| Version 10.50.xxxx is SQL Server 2008 R2, version 10.0.xxxx is SQL Server 2008. You cannot restore a backup taken from a newer version onto a server with an older version. You'd have to upgrade the server to SQL 2008 R2 to restore the backup. Alternately, you can restore the backup to a different server with 2008 R2, and use the Import/Export wizard to copy the data, and the Generate Scripts task to create the database objects. |
