bernie writes "(Tough question - for me, at least it is)

I've gone thru the Books Online, this website, SQL administration book, etc., but all there is about auditing seems to be from the perspective of a DBA. I'm an auditor and would like to know how we can capture activities of the DBA e.g. when he or she grants a role, updates a table, creates/drops a user, etc.. Somewhat similar to the statement or privilege audit_options available in Oracle. My DBA says there isn't such a feature in SQL, and I dunno what sort of triggers we can build to achieve the same objective of being able to detect any unauthorised activities of a DBA for critical databases. Any suggestions please? THanks. "

SQL Profiler can capture these events, though not all of them in enough detail for your purposes, and it is mainly a performance monitoring tool. See Books Online for more details.
