Hi,I am using SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition on Windows Server 2003 64 bit environment. My problem is memory utilization is go to maximum and therefore the server performance is going down. Once I restart the SQL server service it is reducing but it again starts to increase the memory utilization gradually. Please help me to settle this issue permanently. My thanks,Lasantha. |

SQL Server is a memory hog. If this is a dedicated server for SQL Server, set the maximum memory setting to a value that gives the OS and other processes 2-8GB. How much memory do you have on the server? Is it a dedicated box for SQL Server?Tara KizerSQL Server MVP since 2007http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/ |
