Amiable pals,
hi!

I am facing following problem:
When i start the ms sql server 7.0 on windows 2000 adv server, it reports an error that "MS SQL server could not be started, Specified file not found"
Please help me.

I've seen this problem when the server has been renamed. Check to see that isn't the case. If it is, there was an article about trying to fix this - see this article (I never had a chance to use it, so I can't say it works, but test it): http://www.swynk.com/friends/knight/renameserver.asp


If not that, some other things - are you happy no-one has been playing aroud on the box, maybe deleting files, renaming , moving etc. ? Path etc. hasn't been "broken".
