Luba writes "The transaction log in one of the databases has maxed out the hard drive space. It is currently 45Gb, and nothing else will run on the server. How can I truncate, shrink or delete this log?

Thanx."

Don't allow things to grow to fill a disk - put a max size on them and monitor the situation.

Normally just detach the database delete the log file then attach single file (sp_dettach_db, sp_attach_single_file_db) - but you won't be able to do that unless you can recover the database.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
