If a user enters an incorrect password when the log on, is there away to find out what the password is they are trying to use?

Yes I know this is a strange question, but there is a reason I ask.

It's because we bought an application of a third party vendor. That users a log on and password to log on to the server, that we don't know. However it's started not to be able to log on, so I was thinking the password had changed.
