You can use 2000 client tools for SQL 7 no worries. As for doing source control inside them... I think you might be entering a world of pain Damian |

Thanks Merkin, I just realized I could test this out safely. And it looks good. When I say version control I just wanted to be able touse VSS integrated with Query Analyzer. SQL7 Query Analyser dosen't have Tools/CustomizeSo if I develop in SQL2000 Client Tools to an SQL7 it seems all clear..Found this at dbfourms quote: the 2000 version of the client tools should do just fine. You will not be able to see/use any of the 2000 features when you login to a sql 7 machine. It hides all that for you.
