I'm not sure.

Why would you want to do this? You should always use the latest releases for the security patches.

Yes you can, but as smccreadie says why would you would to do this?

You are unable to do the restores if you have different security patches on the two servers. Well at least that's what I have found with sp2 and its security patches.
