Some of my servers the enterprise manager is extreamly slow. The database performance seems pretty good though. I noticed on one server I had to uninstall/reinstall SQL and the speed of enterprise manager went back to normal. I just reattaced all the databases to the new instalation.

Any ideas on how to get my other servers back to speed without having to re-install?

hi,
I had experienced the same problem some time back the cause was some virus infection I reinstalled the slq server and it worked but was not able to find any other solution for it.
basically I think some of the files are modified and so this happens.

Definatly not a virus, have applied all patches and service packs regularly and have had very current Norton antivirus installed for the life of the server. Also server is not exposed to the internet.

I did the reinstalation on the one server on 31 Dec 2002, so not slammer. Have noticed the slow down months ago.
