B. John writes "Does anybody have a clue how to configure MSSQL 7.0, or knows where such info can be found? I do not want to overcomplicate the metter, so will write few lines of information and few questions.

(Client/Server for SQL is on the same computer, or more correctly should be on the same computer.)

I am using Microsoft Personal Web Server, where host is named. I am not sure if
<127.0.0.1 localhost> is in use, host name in use was picked up during installation (PWS installation) after Computer Name.

Important:
During installation of SQL 7.0 program did not connect to server.

Final note: any time I try to Register SQL Server the error message is as follow:

(Microsoft SQL-DMO)

Also how to relate all above to MS ODBC Administrator (Utility)

One of the error messages I got:

Microsoft SQL Server ODBC Driver Version 03.70.0623

Running connectivity tests...

Attempting connection

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]General network error. Check your network documentation.

TESTS FAILED!

Very last question: Is there an individual who successfully installed SQL 7.0 Client/Server on the same machine. Answer even if you don’t know how it happened."
