Joshua writes "I have a fresh install of Windows 2000 Professional with SQL 2000 client utilities installed. I've registered 4 different databases successfully in Enterprise Manager, three running SQL7/NT4, and one with SQL2000/W2K. The problem: one of them (a SQL7/NT4 machine) hangs when I try to expand any of it's folders, and enterprise manager eventually stops responding. The database is there, and the first level of folders opens just fine, but when I try to expand - for example - the "databases" folder, it behaves as described above. I can get to the same database using Query Analyzer with no problem.
The other three servers work just great, and I've reproduced this on two other W2K/SQL2K client machines. That would seem to indicate that the problem is on the server, but after that I'm kind of at a loss for where to look.
THANKS! Josh" |
