Our VP wants a high availibility solution for current SQL 7 database server. We are considering upgrading to Sql Server 2000 and using two Windows 2003 servers clustered active/passive to provide failover.

I have found an article on installing sql server 2000 on a windows 2000 cluster, but it only addressed advanced server and datacenter server (not windows 2003).

Windows 2003 cluster would seem to be a low cost alternative to a SAN.

Can I install sql server 2000 on a windows 2003 cluster and get the high availibility failover that I desire?

Does anyone know of an article that has been updated on how to do this on Windows 2003?

Look at
http://www.sql-server-performance.com/operating_system_tuning_w2003.asp

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/maintain/operate/nlbbp.asp

This looks like a forum dedicated to that sort of thing

(format looks a bit familiar).

This might be of interest if you can wait

(start of competition speed clustering?)

But then you can search as well as I can.
Look at the knowledge base for things that aren't supported.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
