Obviously MSDE doesn't have SQL Server's nice trace utility. But is there any way to trace the workload on an MSDE database? |

Actually, there are ways to create traces and run them using extended stored procedures. Take a look in Books Online under "xp_trace" and also possibly "sp_trace". There are details in how to use them, and they should work in MSDE.I believe you can also download the evaluation version of SQL Server and install the tools, Profiler is among them, and it should work even after the evaluation period expires. |
