| I just started using MSDE and am using the setup.exe that came with MSDE (from the SQL 2000 CD) to perform the installation. When I use the database on the client machine it is PAINFULLY slow. However, if I then install the SQL Client tools on that same PC the database speeds up incredibly. It even appears that then uninstalling the client tools still leaves the database running great.Did I miss something in the setup of MSDE that would cause it to run slowly? I have rebooted, made sure all services are running, etc ,etc to no avail.ANY help is greatly appreciated.Thanks,Brad |

| Bit weird.Does a different version of mdac get installed with the client tools?Are you installing sp3 for msde? (you should)==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.DTS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy. |
