| Hi, I have an index building job which runs every sunday. This sunday, the job started at 7 PM but never completed. When I came this morning, this job along with all scheduled backups (every noon & night) etc were running but the EM screen showed sunday's date & time.I had to cancel all the jobs and then after pressing refresh 10 times, EM showed me today's date & time.Since the index job is a custom stored procedure, it doesnot write to the log. The only thing I can see is the last table where the index build procedure stuck since it write to a report after every table is indexed! Thanks,Sarat**To be intoxicated is to feel sophisticated, but not be able to say it.** |

| I would run the stored procedure inside Query Analyzer to determine what the problem is. We have had a similar problem and have had to break up the index job into multiple jobs so that only some tables are reindexed each day. We have not had any problems since then. The problem was most likely due to lack of resources on the database server.Tara |
