| Davie writes "Our server team recently upgraded our SQL7 server to SQL2000 and we believe that they tick some box not to upgrade tables (excuse my ignorance of SQL). We now have a 3rd party looking to install a new SQL2000 server and export data from our existing SQL2000 server. They kindly inform us that most of the tables and data will have to be re-keyed becuase the upgrade hadnt been performed correctly (the tables not being upgraded). Does this make sense and if so is there anyway that we can get 100% of the data out of the old server and onto the new server???" |

| Take a look at these:http://www.sqlteam.com/item.asp?ItemID=9066http://www.sqlteam.com/item.asp?ItemID=9465Read through them carefully. I don't see any reason that would prevent you from simply detaching the 7.0 data and log files and reattaching them on your SQL 2000 server. All of the little issues that might come up are addressed in the two articles. |
