Hello all. I am currently looking for people with ASP.NET 2003 and C# experience. Additionally I need people who have experience developing enterprise web applications from scratch. These people would develop the business requirements all the way to project completion. This is a dynamic opportunity and is a legitament job. I am a local IT recruiter in Nashville, TN and quite frankly I am looking for a variety of IT talent. If you or someone you know that is looking for a position please contact me immediately. I would love to the opportunity to talk with you. I have posted the jobs on Jobvertise.com, Jobs.net, and AmericanJobBoards.com. Thanks,BJ OsborneKBM Enterprisesbosborne@kbm-inc.com |

ASP.NET 2003 ?You might have better luck if you advertise for a technology that exists. Not much annoys me more than getting condescendly asked if I know a particular technology by recruiters that have ZERO idea what they are talking about.I once saw an Ad that needed "Dot.Net, Biz.Dot and SQL DOT" (Translation, .NET, SQL and Biztalk).I had another conversation that went like this :Bimbo Recruiter : DO you know SQL Server ?Me : Yes, read my resume Bimbo Recruiter : DO you know ASP ?Me : Yes, it's in my resume that you have IN FRONT OF YOUBimbo Recruiter : So, do you know how to develop dynamic web applications ?Me : (@^*&@#^*&Q*&%*Q&%*&%QAnother one :Bimbo Recruiter : DO you know all the Word products.Me : The WHAT ?Bimbo Recruiter : You know, all the WORD products.Me : Do you mean the Microsoft Office Suite of programsBimbo Recruiter : Yes that oneMe : (^@^*@#&^@%#@^#(@Damian |

It would be very cool if they knew how to spell (or at least spell CHECK) too! |

Last year I was browsingwanted4 years experience .NET. I think only Anders Hejlsberg and his drinking buddies would qualify, Might be a tough fill.Lately it has been the absolutely insane diversity of HR's requirements. There are some brilliant folks out there for sure. But the "jack of all" requirements means at some point the lies get in the equation. That's the "I've used it" vs. "I have 2 years experience" lie. Therefore this recruiter should be put above the rest because at least bosborne explains. I need people who have experience developing enterprise web applications from scratch. These people would develop the business requirements all the way to project completion. That is great because it puts a real face on what will be expected. Not a list that reads like every technology that has come down the pipe. What is missing here is a description of the current environment. That is a huge gap I find in most all IT adds.Your needs could benefit by applying some UML skills. But watch out for JAVA heritage UML guys without an MSSQL mindset. ;-)Anyways http://www.AmericanJobBoards.com ????Is this the posting?Must have 3 years of experience building web-based applications using Microsoft ASP.net and ADO.net with Visual Studio.NET tools. Must have 2 years of experience developing time-tracking or accounting applications. Must have 2 years of experience developing relational databases using Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Must posses exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English with technical and non-technical senior management and line staff. Will be assessed at interview. Must have experience preparing training manuals and conducting training of end users on web based applications. Must have 1 year of experience establishing and maintaining the environment for Intranet/Internet applications. Must have 2 years experience in designing web-based interfaces using Dreamweaver. Why are the needs not expressed. And you have excluded a ton of folks with the Dreamweaver toy requirement. Then in the other oneMust have 3 years of experience building web-based applications using Microsoft ASP.net and ADO.net with Visual Studio.NET tools. 2 years in last 5 years This makes no sense 5 years ago none of these technologies existed. Visual STudio.NET is only two years old previous was beta time. |

That's another thing that bothers me, tool requirements. If someone knows HTML really well, would you not hire them for an HTML role because they didn't have 3 years experience with Dreamweaver ?Ditto for ASP.NET. You don't need visual studio to do .NET programming. One of the architects for .NET, Don Box, uses Emacs!Damian |
