Does anyone know if you can specify a specific DB to use in Enterprise Manager (EM)? I'm going to a server over a network that has about 200 dbs on it. When I open EM, all I want to do is manipulate mine. Is there a way I can tell EM to just bring back my db instead of all 200 dbs?

TIA!

Nope.

That's why you should use Query Analyzer instead. With Query Analyzer, you just do this:

USE DBName
GO

Why not use multiple instances on the server so that you don't have this problem?

They let you have access to all DBs though EM not just yours?????

Sounds Like zero DB Security.

Oh Yea it one of those we dont need no stinking security things.

That's what I thought, thanks.

I don't have any control over this server, only my db...

No, they only give me access to mine, but I still see all of the dbs on the server...

EM always shows all User DBs. Has nothing to do with security. Just because you can see them doesn't mean you can access the DBs.
