Daniel writes "Following a migration to Windows 2000 SP1 server for my SQL 7.0 SP 3, we found that some applications don't like the naming of the server with dash. (New sql server is named se-mtl-sql1). I need to rename the server to something like semtlsql1. How can you assign the new machine name to SQL without reinstalling SQLServer. I saw sp_addserver but I'm not sure if it is a good solution.
Thanks" |
