eek! My Sql Server 7 has effectively just been switched off! Power failed UPS died, no access to comms room as I am not a network admin!! When power was returned and the machine rebooted it all seemed to work ok (I was suprised too)

My question is, what if any checks etc can I run to ensure the integrity of the system and is there anything else I should be doing in these circumstances?

Many many thanks

You might try what I do when events like these occur... I run screaming with my hands in the air.

There's also "DBCC CHECKDB". It isn't as much fun and lacks management visibility.

Good luck.

Loud swearing and blaming the management for poor hardware in front of the CEO's office could be another option. But, on second thought, I'd stick to Sam's advice.

You should also check the SQL Server Error Log for errors and the application log in the Event Viewer.
