Have a look in the registry for the definitions.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.

An easy way is to bring up SQL Server Network Utility on the database server. You'll find which instances are installed in the drop down box labeled "Instance(s) on this server:"
