The guys who installed my Clustered DB server aparently didn't switch it to "per processor" instead of per-seat licensing before entering the # of licenses we have, so now my priducton environment (1300+ users) is running in per-seat mode with 4 licenses. I have gotten no errors yet, but when software audit comes by, I am going to be in trouble. Is there a way to chenge my licence mode without reinstalling the server?

I seem to remember reading someplace that you had one shot at the licensing mode. I suspect that even if you have it setup as per seat, and you have the must more expensive per processor license papers, Microsoft will not care.I just hit google and found this:http://www.tkdinesh.com/faq/ans/license.htmlMichael<Yoda>Use the Search page you must. Find the answer you will.</Yoda>

Thanks, we'll test that on our test system and then fire away in production. Yeah, in SQL 7.0, you just got a warning that you would violate the license agreement, in SQL 2000 you get no option. I wonder why, especially since you can just reinstall it or perform this registry trick and it will work.
