| Hi I am getting the error message 823 bad page ID during read .. when I'm trying to CREATE DATABASE on one of our servers. The help file suggests that there should be messages in the event viewer or logs to identify the exact problem but there are no such messages. What can I do to get around this issue? Does this always indicate disk failure?-------Moo. :) |

| I was getting a lot of 823 torn page errors. After working with Micro soft it was determined that the cache on the disk controller was conflicting with sql servers caching system. We disabled the cache and have not had any errors since.Lance Harra |
