I need to know what version of Win2003 server do I need in order to install SQL2000 in a cluster enviroment. In the past with Win2000 server you would need Advanced win2000 in order to install cluster and than you would need enterprise SQL2000 license, however with Win2003 you only have Standard which comes with Cluster or Enterprise which is alot more expensive.

So if I;m looking to install SQL2000 in cluster enviorment would I need Standard Win2003 or Enterprise Win2003 because I know that you need SQL2000 enterprise to install SQL in cluster mode.

Thanks,

Jay

Has anyone here done a 2003 cluster yet ? How did it compare to a Win 2000 one ?

Only Win2000 cluster here. I can tell you that Win2003 is great for web serving. By default, it comes VERY locked down. Me like :)

We've just built a 2003 4-node cluster. It works, from a DBA's perspective. They won't give me OS right on this cluster, so I haven't had a chance to poke around in cluster manager yet ...
